    About This Recipe

So before we begin, I will say this: my family used to run a pizza restaurant, and we were pretty famous for our garlic bread. So if there is any recipe you should trust, it's this one.

Garlic butter is incredibly easy to make at home. It only requires a handful of ingredients and 5 minutes of prep. Once you make it, I guarantee you will never buy it from the store again. My version is so much more flavorful, and it's way cheaper too.

The secret to making garlic butter like restaurants is using a combination of both fresh garlic AND garlic powder. Fresh garlic adds pungency and sharpness, while dried garlic powder has more nutty flavors. Together, they created a well-rounded and balanced garlic butter.

    Key Ingredients

    ingredients prepped in bowls.

Butter: Since we will be adding our own salt, I recommend you use unsalted butter here, and make sure it's softened before you start by setting it out on the counter for at least 30 minutes- this will make mixing way easier.

Fresh garlic: To release as much flavor as possible, mince the garlic finely with a knife or grate it on a microplane.

Parsley: Both curly and straight parsley will work for this recipe. Just make sure you don't use dried parsley because dried parsley barely has any flavor.

Garlic powder: Adds concentrated, nutty, garlicky flavor.

Salt and black pepper: I use half a teaspoon of salt and a quarter teaspoon of black pepper. You may add more to your own taste

    Instructions

butter mixed with other ingredients in bowl.

STEP 1: Add all the ingredients to a small bowl and mix until combined. Use immediately or store covered in the fridge for up to 5 days. Set it out at least 30 minutes before using so that it can soften and be spreadable.

Note: This garlic butter recipe can also be frozen! Just wrap it tightly with plastic wrap, and it'll keep for several months. That said, it's so delicious you'll probably use it up much sooner 🙂
