    About This Recipe

These air fryer sweet potatoes are the perfect side dish when you want something quick and tasty! The wedges develop a beautifully caramelized exterior while the inside stays soft and creamy. My recipe uses simple ingredients with minimal prep. Basically, all you need to do is slice the sweet potatoes and toss them with the seasonings!

Sometimes, I even eat these as a simple vegetarian lunch with some Chipotle sauce. And if I have leftovers, I snack on them throughout the day. Sweet potatoes are loaded with fiber, minerals, and nutrients, so they're very healthy!

Try making these air-fried sweet potatoes the next time you need a last-minute side dish. The air fryer is so good at creating a crispy exterior while keeping the inside tender and fluffy. Plus, it takes way less time than an oven.

    Key Ingredients

    ingredients prepped in bowls.

Sweet Potatoes: Try to use sweet potatoes that are around the same size so that you can make wedges of even thickness. I like to leave the skins on the sweet potatoes for extra fiber. If you enjoy that, try to find sweet potatoes that have less bruising and dirt on the skins.

Olive Oil: A bit of oil helps coat the wedges so the spices stick. It also helps the edges caramelize. Any neutral oil, like vegetable oil or avocado oil, works well.

Seasoning: I use a combination of salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. It gives the wedges a slight smokiness that complements their natural sweetness. Feel free to swap in your favorite spice blend.

    Instructions

STEP 1: Wash and dry the sweet potatoes. Slice into evenly-sized wedges. Toss the wedges with the oil and spices in a large bowl.

STEP 2: Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket with some space between each one. If your air fryer is small, you may need to do this in two batches.

STEP 3: Air-fry for 10-12 minutes. The wedges should be tender when pierced with a fork and crispy around the edges. If not, air-fry for another 2-4 minutes.
