This garlic bread is crisp on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. I used to work in a pizza restaurant and I'm going to spill the secrets on how we made our garlic bread so delicious. After this, you'll never buy storebought again!

    About This Recipe

If you are looking for the best garlic bread recipe, then you have come to the right place. Let me tell you why I am the expert on this topic.

    1. My parents used to own a pizza restaurant in my hometown.
    2. I was in charge of making the garlic bread at said pizza restaurant.
    3. After my parents retired, I spent YEARS perfecting my garlic bread recipe. Even though it's just bread, it always manages to steal the show at whatever dinner I cook it for.

The secret to truly delicious garlic bread is using a combination of freshly minced garlic AND garlic powder. At our restaurant, we used to buy tubs of garlic butter, and that's what their ingredient list specified. Once you try it, you will not go back.

    Key Ingredients

    ingredients prepped in bowls.

Butter: I use unsalted butter so I can control the salt amounts myself. Make sure the butter is at room temperature so it'll be easier to mix with the seasonings and spread on the bread.

Fresh garlic: You want to mince this as fine as possible or grate it on a microplane.

Salt: Not much to be said here.

Garlic powder: This is what provides that extra garlickiness that differentiates homemade from restaurant quality.

Dried oregano: You can also use Italian seasoning or both.

Black pepper: Freshly cracked for a stronger flavor.

Bread: Any type of bread will work, but I used a loaf of French bread.

    Instructions

    garlic butter mixture in bowl.

STEP 1: Combine the butter with the seasonings in a small bowl.

two halves of bread with garlic butter spread on.

STEP 2: Cut your loaf of bread in half lengthwise and spread the butter mixture between the two halves of bread, making sure to cover all the way to the edges. I've found that if you leave any bald spots, they will brown faster in the oven.

STEP 3: Bake at 450°F for 5-7 minutes until golden on top. Serve while warm. Enjoy!
