Bring a medium pot of water to a rolling boil. Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions. Reserve ¼ cup of pasta water, then drain. Set aside.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for one minute. Add the parmesan cheese and 2 tablespoons of the pasta water. Stir until the cheese melts.
Add the pasta, parsley, and black pepper. Toss until well combined. If the noodles are dry, add more pasta water.
