Sourdough Dinner Rolls

These Sourdough Dinner Rolls are as soft as clouds and incredibly easy to make. Prep them in the morning for dinner, or mix them before bed and rest overnight.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¼ cups warm milk (not hot)
  • cup sourdough discard
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (spooned and levelled)

Instructions
 

  • In a stand mixer bowl, mix together the milk, sourdough discard, oil, sugar, salt, and egg.
  • Add the flour and knead with the dough hook for 5-6 minutes until no longer sticky.
  • Cover and let rise for 6-8 hours in a warm place.
  • Grease and line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Shape the dough into 15 balls.
  • Arrange the balls in the prepared baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 1-2 hours until noticeably puffed.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter.
