This is my take on Rose Water Lemonade. It is very refreshing and aromatic. I decided to use sparkling water instead of regular water, and it turned out amazingly delicious and fizzy.

I had rose water lemonade at a Lebanese restaurant for the first time not too long ago. It was super tasty. I usually don't like flowers (or anything floral) in my food or drinks, but this was an exception. The key ingredient is rose water which makes it very aromatic.

What is rose water and where to buy it?

Rose water is simply water that has been infused with the flavor of rose petals. You can buy it at most grocery stores, but you are more likely to find it at specialty kitchen stores or an Indian grocery store (rose water is used in many Indian desserts).

Pictured above is the brand I'm using. My bottle has been expired for two years now, but I heard that rose water will last indefinitely. I didn't notice any change in quality.

    Why make a simple syrup?

Every lemonade recipe will have you make a simple syrup first. The reason is because sugar does not dissolve easily in cold liquids. To make a simple syrup, just combine equal parts of sugar and water and heat it until the sugar dissolves.

    What sparkling water to use?

You can use any sparkling water that you want, but preferably it is neutral-flavored or lemon-flavored. Also, make sure it is sugar-free or low in sugar because we will be sweetening the lemonade ourselves.

I'm using Spindrift brand sparkling water (pictured above). Other options I typically use are Bubly, LaCroix, and Perrier.

This Rose Water Lemonade has to be one of the best drinks I have ever made. It is very aromatic, refreshing, and super fizzy! My wife liked it so much that we served it at a bridal shower she helped organize.

    • ¼ cup water
    • ½ cup sugar
    • ¼ cup rose water
    • ½ cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons)
    • 3 cans sparkling water

    Instructions

    • In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Whisk over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and stir in the rose water. Let it cool for about 10 minutes.
    • Add the sugar/water mixture (simple syrup) to a large pitcher. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice. Gently pour in the sparkling water (tilt the pitcher to a 45-degree angle and pour it down the side). Gently stir until everything is mixed.
    • Pour over ice to serve or refrigerate for 1-2 hours before serving. Enjoy!
